The way GumLeaf™ works is by covering your existing roof guttering with a louvre shaped, expanded mesh grill. This mesh is screwed and glued to the underside of your roofing tiles or corrugations and is invisible from street level. The mesh has unique drainage capacity, is fixed exactly to the shape of your roof with no chance of leakage and is designed to allow optimum water flow while encouraging leaves and debris to slide off the guttering.

Guard Protection is tailored to each situation, but below is a brief rundown:
1. On-site measure and quote
2. Colour choice to match existing roof (for tiles we can offer only one colour: Woodland Grey)
3. Flush out existing gutters and downpipes
4. Measure the gap between the gutter lip and edge of the roof
5. Hand fold and fit the mesh to the corrugation of the roof or under the first tile
6. Secure to the guttering lip using tapered, colour matched stitching screws, interlocking each overlap
7. Cut and screw to fit perfectly
8. Apply generous quantities of Gorilla (non-toxic, transparent, unaffected by moisture, weathering, and UV exposure) MS-based silicon adhesive sealant
9. Stand back and enjoy!

This means that our work practices are exemplary, we are Site Safe certified, and we are committed to following all jurisdictions for WorkSafe’s Working at Height guidelines as per the Health and Safety at Work Act, 2015, unit standard 15757 & AS: NZ 1891.4.2007.

This document gives us guidance on managing risk when working on roofs, including controls to prevent falls from roofs and the use of safety equipment.

Being certified as able to operate at height also means it is our responsibility to evaluate site safety and operate safely to protect our clients from any liability that would arise from an un-certified installer injuring himself on your property.

GumLeaf™ Gutter Guard Protection follow WorkSafe’s guidelines to ensure:
• Safe access to the roof area
• Assessment of the roofing materials
• Identify hazards associated with working at height from or through the roof
• Brittle roofing assessment
• Other working at height hazards (for example, weather, electricity)
• Establishing equipment and hazard controls for working at height
• Safe working practice
• Training and supervision.

Our understanding of legal obligation extends to knowledge of insurance – both ours and yours.

We recommend you take good care of your roof and gutters as it is likely that your insurance claim for water damage caused by a spouting blockage (accumulated leaf or debris etc) will be declined. In our experience the reason for this is because most policies have a “reasonable maintenance and repair” clause and a “take all reasonable precautions to prevent loss occurring” clause; just one more reason to have GumLeaf™ Gutter Guard installed!
